Brian BabcockBrian J. Babcock is an AV rated attorney and a shareholder with the law firm of Babcock Scott & Babcock, P.C. With almost 30 years of experience, Brian’s practice has been focused on commercial litigation including representing businesses, contractors, owners, design professionals, bonding companies, and insurance companies. This has included litigation and trial work in courts, mediations, and arbitrations along with acting as a mediator in commercial, construction and real estate disputes. He has been recognized by Mountain States Super Lawyers – The Top 100, Utah Legal Elite – Construction, and Mountain States Super Lawyers – Construction Litigation.

Brian has a degree from Brigham Young University in Construction Management. He has worked closely with numerous groups and associations including the Utah Chamber of Commerce, Associated General Contractors, Associated Builders & Contractors of Utah, Utah Surety Association, and others. Brian has been a member of the Litigation Section, Construction Law Section and the Dispute Resolution Section of the Utah State Bar. He also served on the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section of the Utah State Bar and the Utah Supreme Court’s Construction Law Sub-committee on Model Jury Instructions. Brian acted as a Judge Pro-Tem for the Third District Court, Salt Lake Department, State of Utah for over 10 years. In his “spare” time, he currently serves as a Vice President of the Utah Youth Soccer Association.

Brian has lectured to numerous groups on various legal topics relating to the construction industry, including the Utah Bar Association, Associated General Contractors of Utah, Associated Builders & Contractors of Utah, Utah Surety Association, Lorman Education, NBI, Brigham Young University, Utah Valley University, Salt Lake Community College. He has also authored several publications and articles.
