Judge Tyrone Medley

Professional Experience: Judge Medley was admitted to the Utah State Bar and Federal Bar in 1978.  Worked as a research attorney for the Third District Court and as a Deputy Salt Lake County Attorney 1978 to1981.  An associate with the law firm of Cotro-Manes, Warr, Green & Shand, litigating civil matters, including transportation, personal injury, business, domestic relations, criminal matters and a Certified N.F.L. Contract Advisor from 1981 to 1984.  Appointed December 1984 by Governor Bangerter as a Fifth District Court Judge, serving Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele Counties, assigned to the civil department.  For twenty years presided over thousands of civil cases in all areas of civil practice.  Presided over settlement conferences, jury and bench trials in areas of personal injury, medical, dental and legal malpractice, construction, commercial and domestic relations matters.  Appointed July 1992 by Governor Scott Matheson, Third Circuit Court Judge, serving Salt Lake , Summit and Tooele Counties, presided over criminal and civil matters.  Retired as an active Third District Judge July 1, 2012, currently serving as an active senior District Court Judge.  Private arbitration and mediation July 1, 2012 until present.
