Blake Miller has engaged in high-stakes commercial litigation for almost 40 years. Mr. Miller is a seasoned trial lawyer, having conducted numerous jury and bench trials before federal, state, and tribal courts. He has participated as lead counsel in large regulatory hearings before public service commissions. He has served as defense counsel in numerous professional liability cases, such as legal, engineering, and medical malpractice cases. Mr. Miller has successfully represented businesses in bet-the-company cases; reorganized struggling companies, both in bankruptcy and out of court restructures; and prosecuted and defended a wide variety of business disputes and torts, including contract, professional liability, trade secrets, real estate, and intra-company disputes.
Mr. Miller holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, is listed among the top 100 attorneys in litigation by the American Society of Legal Advocates, is recognized among Smith & Naifeh’s Best Lawyers in America and was named 2021 “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights.
Mr. Miller also understands being a business owner and client. He is a founder and former CEO of O2 Blue, a pioneer in the on-line environmental commodities exchange market that operated out of New Jersey and Salt Lake City. Mr. Miller has hired legal counsel in his business role and understands both the pressures of running a business and being a client of legal services.
Mr. Miller has participated in hundreds of mediations involving not only high dollar value claims but strong emotions. Mr. Miller employs a thoughtful analysis and common-sense approach to mediations. He received mediation training at the S.J. Quinney School of Law. Mr. Miller concentrates his mediation practice in the areas of commercial litigation, business disputes, construction, real estate, and professional liability, including legal and medical malpractice cases.
