Joseph C. Rust co-founded the law firm of Kesler & Rust in 1980 and is now the senior shareholder. From 1970 to 1974 he was European Area counsel for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany. He has practiced law in Salt Lake City for over 40 years. Mr. Rust has extensive experience in the fields of construction law, including lien and bond claims, international law, commercial litigation, personal injury and products liability litigation, real property acquisitions and sales, and landlord-tenant relations.
Mr. Rust has served as a mediator and arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and as a mediator and arbitrator with the State of Utah Court-Annexed ADR Program. He has served on many Utah State Bar Committees, and currently is a member of the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Bar. He has served as President of the Utah chapter of the World Trade Association, as a committee chairman of the International Bar Association, as chairman of the Legal Advisory Committee of the Associated General Contractors, and as the Chairman of the Utah District Export Council. Mr. Rust is fluent in the German language and has a reading knowledge of French and Czech.
